Introduction:
Pacific Ocean Pediatrics is a pediatric practice located in the heart of Santa Monica, California. Founded in 1996 by Robert C. Hamilton, M.D., F.A.A.P., the practice is now comprised of Robert C. Hamilton, M.D., F.A.A.P., Noel Salyer, M.D., F.A.A.P., Lily Marouf, M.D., F.A.A.P., Karina Eastman, M.D., F.A.A.P., and Dennis Woo, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Our Philosophy:
Our practice is committed to providing excellent medical care to our patients in a warm and caring environment. We are dedicated to the health and development of children from birth through early adulthood. Our desire is to partner with you to raise healthy and well-balanced children.
A Commitment To Service And Teaching:
In addition to serving our patients, we believe it is important to serve children in need locally and abroad. We are active participants in the following organizations:
Lighthouse Medical Missions which sends medical missions trips to Africa and Central America on a biannual basis.
Gene Black Summer Internship Program, offered to high school students interested in pursuing a career in pediatrics, through the Los Angeles Pediatric Society.

At Pacific Ocean Pediatrics, we believe in a team-based approach in caring for your child. We have an exceptional team of accredited pediatricians, Robert Hamilton, M.D., F.A.A.P., Noel Salyer, M.D., F.A.A.P., Lily Marouf, M.D., F.A.A.P., Dennis Woo, M.D., F.A.A.P., and Karina Eastman, M.D., F.A.A.P. Each member of our team has their own unique style, but we all share the same general philosophy in treating patients.
For your Well Child visits, you may choose to see the same physician each time to maintain continuity and foster a closer relationship. When your child is ill, we want him or her to be seen as soon as possible, and that may mean seeing the ‘covering’ doctor from our team.
We also have a wonderful team of nurses and support staff that is here to help you and your child.

Dr. Robert Hamilton
Robert C. Hamilton, M.D., F.A.A.P.,. has been in practice in Santa Monica for the past 37 years. He earned his bachelor's degree in biochemistry from University of California, Davis and from there he came to UCLA for medical school and pediatric residency. He remained for an additional year and served as Chief Resident for one year before going into private practice in Santa Monica.
After 12 years of practice with Santa Monica Pediatric Group, Dr. Hamilton ventured off to form his own practice, Pacific Ocean Pediatrics, in the fall of 1996. He has hospital privileges at Providence-St. John's Health Center and UCLA-Santa Monica Medical Center. In addition to Dr. Hamilton's practice, he has also been active in overseas humanitarian medical missions. In 1998 he founded Lighthouse Medical Missions and leads medical mission teams to both Africa and Central America every year.
Dr. Hamilton and his wife Leslie are the proud parents of six children and ten grandchildren. For leisure, Dr. Hamilton enjoys biking, reading, and playing at the park with his grandkids. He also has an eclectic taste for all kinds of music and enjoys working on the board of the Santa Monica Symphony with his daughter Sarah.

Dr. Noel Salyer
Noël H. Salyer, M.D., F.A.A.P., was raised in Santa Monica, California, and is the first of four daughters born to Leslie and Robert Hamilton. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychobiology from University of California, Los Angeles and then completed her medical degree at University of California, Davis. She did her internship and pediatric residency at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford University. After eight years in Northern California, she moved back to Santa Monica and in 2010 joined us here at the pediatric practice her father founded in 1996. Dr. Salyer and Dr. Bob are our dynamic daughter-dad, doctor duo. Dr. Salyer holds staff privileges at Providence-St. John's Health Center and UCLA-Santa Monica Medical Center.
She lives in Culver City with her husband, Kyle, and their three children.

Dr. Lily Marouf
Lily M. Marouf, M.D., F.A.A.P., grew up in Los Angeles, California. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Biology at the University of California, San Diego and then completed her medical degree at Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel. She then completed her pediatric residency training at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New York. Prior to joining Pacific Ocean Pediatrics, she worked as an inpatient pediatric hospitalist and Clinical Instructor at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and served as an Assistant Professor at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, training pediatric residents rotating through Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Marouf holds staff privileges at Providence-St. John's Health Center, and UCLA-Santa Monica Medical Center.
She lives in Brentwood with her husband, Yoav, and her three children.

Dr. Karina Eastman
Karina Eastman, M.D., F.A.A.P. grew up in Houston, TX, but her family has since relocated to the Los Angeles area. She received her bachelor's degree in biology at the age of 18 from Mary Baldwin College in Virginia. After college, she worked at UCLA in human genetics research and then as a molecular biologist for a biotechnology company in Santa Monica. Dr. Eastman returned to school in 2010 to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a pediatrician and earned her medical degree at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Eager to return to the west coast and her family, Dr. Eastman came back to Los Angeles to complete her pediatric residency training at UCLA. Prior to joining us at Pacific Ocean Pediatrics she built a successful new practice in Playa Vista working under the Cedars Sinai umbrella. Dr. Eastman helps patients and families create a healthy foundation for lifelong health and wellness and is excited to bring her practice to the Santa Monica community. Dr. Eastman is also certified in homeopathic medicine.
She has privileges at Providence-St. John's Medical Center.
Dr. Eastman lives in Los Angeles with her family, 2 dogs and a cat. She enjoys photography, running with her dogs, movie nights and traveling.

Dr. Dennis Woo
Dennis Woo, M.D., F.A.A.P., is a Los Angeles native, as well. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor’s of Science in Genetics. He then received his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed his pediatric internship at Cedars-Sinai Hospital and residency at Harbor General Hospital. Dr. Woo is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at UCLA, where he has trained many of our local pediatricians over the years. He was also the lead doctor at UCLA Health Santa Monica Pediatrics for many years, as well as the former Chair of Pediatrics at both Providence St. John’s Health Center and UCLA-Santa Monica Hospital. Dr. Woo has published extensively on pediatrics and is one of the most respected pediatricians on the Westside. We are absolutely delighted to have his expertise, experience, and loveable nature at our practice.
Dr. Woo lives in Sherman Oaks with his wife, and is a proud father and grandfather.

Administration Fee
There are many services that we perform in the workday that we do not individually bill for. Instead, as opposed to some practices that do charge for these services separately, we have opted to charge an annual comprehensive fee that covers these items.
These services include:
Access to a Board Certified pediatrician for telephone consultation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Same-day appointments for emergent care
Saturday office hours, Sunday and holiday availability
Pharmacy call-ins for refills and new prescriptions
Camp, school and sport participation form completion and submission
Prenatal interviews. Expectant moms and partners can come meet with preferred physician and tour the office
Our Administration Fee allows us the liberty to provide the kind of care that our patients have come to appreciate without individually charging for the services we (happily) provide.
Fees are:
1 child $425/year
2 children $475/year
3 children $525/year
The annual administration fee is a non-contractual fee that your insurance company will not cover.

We are conveniently located across the street from St. John's Hospital and Health Center on Santa Monica Boulevard in the heart of Santa Monica. Paid parking ($2.50 per 15 minutes or $15 max) is available in the lot directly behind our building. Metered street parking is also available in the neighborhood south of our office. For overflow parking St. John’s allows public parking in Lot H on 21st Street just south of Santa Monica Blvd. ($5 for the first 30 minutes, $2 per 15 minutes thereafter, $16 max).

Insurance
Insurance is complicated, but at Pacific Ocean Pediatrics we aim to make this process as simple as possible. We recommend to always call your insurance company to confirm that we are in-network. Call your insurance to confirm coverage with our TAX ID# 95-4598042.
As of October 2018, we are contracted with the following employer provided (group) PPO insurances: Aetna, BlueCross*, BlueShield, Cigna, Health Net, and United Healthcare**. The one insurance plan you can buy on your own (an individual plan) that we are contracted with is Blue Shield PPO.
*We are only contracted with certain BlueCross plans, Prudent Buyer and Advantage plans only. We are not contracted with Anthem Tiered or Pathway plans. Go to ANTHEM website to check eligibility using your ID #.
**We are not contracted with United Health Care CORE plan.
Our office is NOT contracted with any HMO health plans. We do not accept MediCal. We do, however, accept Covered California from Blue Shield (but NOT any HMO from Blue Shield).
A credit card must be kept on file for your family, however your card on file will only be charged if your account is delinquent more than 30 days.

FAQs
Are you accepting new patients? Yes, all of our physicians are accepting new patients. Click HERE for New Patient Info.
Do you accept walk-ins? We are always available for same-day sick visits, but we request that you please give us a call so we can prepare your chart ahead of time. If you are not a patient of our practice, please note that appointment times are reserved for our patients. If we do have room in our schedule, you may be seen by one of our doctors, but your visit will be a "cash" visit. We will supply you with the superbill to bill your insurance.

What is the parking situation? We are located at 2216 Santa Monica Blvd, Suite 204, Santa Monica, CA, and you can park in the back parking lot. I'm expecting and would like my baby to be a patient at Pacific Ocean Pediatrics. What do I do? That's wonderful! You can schedule a Prenatal Meeting to meet with your preferred physician and get to know the office a little bit (not required). Click HERE for more information about this process.
How do I prepare for my first newborn visit? When you are admitted to the hospital, be sure to inform Labor and Delivery of your preferred physician. Once you deliver your baby, the hospital will give us a call to inform us of your baby's arrival. We will visit you in the hospital within the first 24 hours for your baby's first check-up. In the meantime, you can start New Patient paperwork by clicking HERE.
Can I call to get a same day sick appointment? For sick visits, yes. For well check-ups we recommend calling 2-3 weeks ahead of time.
Do you do camp forms? Please email office@pacificoceanpediatrics.com with patient's name, DOB, what you'd like sent, and to whom it should be sent. Please allow 36-48 hours for task to be completed. Also note that in order to complete a sports or camp form, patient must have had a physical within the past year.
I'd like to request medical records to be emailed or faxed to me. What can I do? Please click HERE and email office@pacificoceanpediatrics.com with patient's name, DOB, what you'd like sent, and to whom it should be sent. Please allow 48-72 hours for task to be completed.
I used to be a patient back in the day. Can I still request my medical records? If we have them on file, yes. We do charge $35 if you are not a current patient. Please note that we properly dispose of records if the patient is 21 or older AND hasn't been seen in 10 years. Please email office@pacificoceanpediatrics.com to request records.
